Pattern SEEING RED by Di Kirchner for Inspiration Studios, Featuring Redwork Embroidery
It's a legend how Queen Elizabeth I loved sweets! And so, here is a Redwork sweetbag with Elizabethan motifs and lustrous cords and tassels stitched with silk.
Inspirations Studios describe this technique:
"This delightful sweetbag, a favoured accessory, borrows from the blackwork tradition and the motifs popular at this time but uses rich garnet rather than black.
Worked onto antique white linen, the drawstring bag is stitched with stranded silk and trimmed with two-colour cords and tassels made with lustrous perlée silk."
This booklet includes complete instructions and full size pattern. 11 pages, full color illustrations and a list of required supplies are all included. The project uses one shade of Au ver a Soie, 145, garnet, and two shades of Soie Perlee, 499 dark garnet and 102 cream ( see on the tassels).
Close up photo is provided to see stitches in detail. Special techniques and colorwork are shown step by step in photos with explanations and directions. The entire work order is described step by step in details.
Perfect for medium-level to experienced stitchers.
